Each year, Ms Min’s ‘Chinoiserie’ collection celebrates classic Chinese culture and the nation’s annual tradition: New Clothes for the New Year. For 2016, Designer Min Liu’s Spring Pre capsule reflects its inspiration in Cheongsam inspired tailoring, kimono style wraps, tunics modeled on classic martial arts wardrobing, bold, graphically slashed black and white prints that reference classic Chinese swords Edge.
A collection that evolves around versatile pieces—column dresses, jaunty trousers, wool pullovers—and voluminous silhouettes: full skirts and palazzo trousers. For holiday flair, dresses come tied with outsize bows, or sheared in feminine fringe. With a classic black and white palette interspersed with auspicious gold and lucky red, the line features Liu’s signature double-faced knits, fine silks, 18-gauge cashmere, and personally designed fabrics. This season’s unique silk Jacquards, lightly draped or heavily quilted, done in black on black florals and rich, foil effect metallics.
